Benefits of Camping for Bloggers

Benefits of Camping for Bloggers

Okay bloggers, time for some discussions about why the outdoors is brilliant if you go. The first thing that you will want to remember is; when was the last time you had really gone out? Not exactly on a normal holiday.

Or a visit to your parents’ place. Or even to a basement party which other fellow nerdy bloggers or friends of yours organized. I mean, really went out. In the wilderness, carefree and charmed with the blue skies of the out of town!

In case you are still wondering, the reference is being made to camping bloggers. For those of you who have never camped, they might not even be aware of how much fun camping out of doors can be. For those who have forgotten the charm, take a dip back in time my friends, because we are going camping!

The Charm of Camping

Since you are my fellow blogger, it is obvious to assume that you are an imaginative lot. However, hanging out at home and writing about real as well as imaginative things will hardly do most of you good. How about simply taking some time off and doing something which you can write about?

A camping trip away from home is guaranteed to give you great ideas. Living in the lap of Mother Nature will let you feel how beautiful everything around you is.

Once you are away from your place and drive to the site, I surely some sorts of tantrums or the others. And boy, do we bloggers know or can throw tantrums!

The first few hours will seem bleak because there will be no Wi-Fi and the chances of a computer is pretty slim if the group or the person you are going camping with mean business.

Nevertheless, once you start collecting twigs for the fire (throw in a lot of moaning and complaining) or fetch some water, you kind of start to appreciate what living in the wild is like.

The real appreciation starts when you feel the stars come out. Trust me! There is no beautiful sight on earth than the one you can just lie back and stare at.

Also, it is time you donned the chef’s cap again. There is a good chance that you have forgotten what real food tastes like, judging by the range of takeaway boxes your place is usually filled with.

Prepare to let go and the unexpected awakening of your senses as well. By the second day your complaints will go down, for sure.

The Health Benefits

Apart from the refined vitality of your senses, here is your good chance to not just connect with nature, but improve your health as well. A camping trip is usually a complete set of activities which you or your group might have planned to do. These activities may involve hiking, fishing or climbing steep trails and others.

With the kind of ordeal your unaccustomed blogger body will go through, the cardiovascular properties stand to improve. Suddenly your dormant survival instincts may be reckoned upon as well. You begin to appreciate the things for free and learn to be thankful.

Above all, here is a chance to brush up on your people skills again. Camping is a great place to find complete strangers to connect with.

While your city or place may seem distant and selfish now, your fellow campers and other group around the place will help you with what they have.

If this trip is a getaway with your partner, do not be shy to lose some of that attitude and to hell with proper conduct. Have some fun and make the other person feel comfortable.

Things to Pack

While I am assuming that you will be going with a group, there is a good chance that you might do some camping alone as well. Whatever your plan is, proper packing for your trip is something that you will have to focus upon.

The first step to ensure that you are not missing out on stuff is to make a list. The first tool would of course be to choose a proper tent. Sleeping bags is of course a must. Carry a proper sized water bottle with you as well as some food, cooked or not.

Invest in flashlights and penknives as well.

    Hi Matthew,
I quite agree with you on the benefits of clamping especially the health part of it. I remember what my dad always tells me those days that all work and no play makes jack a doll boy.

So it is really beneficial for we bloggers as it will not only enhance our health but will often expose us to some things that can give us an inspiration for a new blog post.

Interesting post. I agreed with your opinion on camping. I like camping and hiking as these activities involve lots of adventure and fun. It makes my mind active and ready for next opportunities to avail. It is also an effective way to reduce extra calories, that we might taking all the time in our daily life.

  15. Olga says

That is a serious issue you are dealing with. I think still too few bloggers deal with this. However wonderful blogging and working at home may be, it is the fact that most bloggers rarely go out onto the fresh air.
