Creativity is something that everyone’s brain is wired for. Every person is creative in one field or the other. But only a very few percentage of these people realize that they are indeed capable of creating ideas. And, even more, very few of these actually take steps to use their inbuilt creativity. How sad?
Having said that, every person, in one way or the other, needs creativity. It is either their job or business or their lifestyle that wants them to pump out ideas. Creativity is also a skill, because even though it is inbuilt, it grows upon practice. And, anyone can eventually tame it and use it terrifically. Being creative means having a rust-less (or dustless) brain which is what most of the people’s career wants.
So how to enhance the creativity which you already have as default?
Brainstorm
Brainstorming is one of the most effective ways of increasing one’s creativity. When we brainstorm we actually set one goal- we give a theme or a keyword and ask our brain to generate as many ideas as possible. We don’t worry about crazy ideas, stupid ideas, ideas that won’t work and so on. In other words, we do not restrict our brain or put constraints to it. We just leave our brain free to think whatever it can, how crazy it can be.
Since we leave our brain free and appreciate all sorts of ideas, our creativity will get a boost and we start to think creative and generate a bunch of useful ideas.
Read books/articles/journals
Reading improves your thinking a lot. When you read, you just don’t think with your mind but you get different perspectives to think about. Reading gives you an opportunity to think on varied topics on varied styles with varied perspectives. Continuous reading will also equip you with enough knowledge to come up with relevant and useful ideas.
Encourage ideas
When you are strolling at the park and get an unusual idea about how to manage your time don’t ignore it. When you are on the bus and get a new idea for your blog post don’t think it will be stupid. Encouraging ideas and making use of every idea you get at irrelevant places enhances your creative thinking.
Use tech
Technological gadgets will help you to improve your creativity. You may wonder how this is possible. But I have had so many instances where when I encourage one idea and record it somewhere (with one of my gadgets) it becomes a habit. So when you travel or when you are waiting at the hospital or train station, you will be tempted to think of a new idea because you have a gadget with you to record every idea. Further, one idea you record will trigger your thinking and will generate a hierarchy or ideas. Try it. It works.
Don’t let your ideas sleep inside your brain. Let them come out!

You are right. Creativity might be inbuilt but it’s necessary to practice and learn new things to master it.

The main objective to increase our creativity power is to be boundless. Its no doubt becomes a habit if we can push ourselves to the first starting spark. We always need someone who can encourage us before stepping to any new kind of work. Same goes for creativity also. If we get someone who can really understands our thoughts then we will never stop to think and get it better from the previous one. Our creativity will gradually become a habit to us.

Reading and discussion on the particular subjects with people having knowledge of the subjects can significantly enhance the creativity. You can work out with experimentation as well to arrive at a particular combination which might be the answer of a particular problem.
It is true that everyone is creative in one way or another. There are indeed so many ways in which one can enhance creativity especially with all the technology that we have these days. One of the best ways to be creative is through reading a lot. Words contain power and so much knowledge is hidden in writing. You should however be keen with what you read because not all things are helpful.
