I’ve heard of the Thesis Theme, but didn’t know that they also make one for a landing page. Most people don’t understand how important it is to have a landing page that captures the visitor’s attention right away. There was a study that showed the average time a webpage has before a visitor leaves is less than 10 seconds. You can have the best sales pitch in the world, but if you don’t have a layout that will keep a visitor from leaving, none of the copy will be read.
Lionel, good points you’ve made here. Less than 10 seconds is so true and if your sales page looks like the “standard” one the bounce off time is much lower.

This theme is now a days everywhere on the internet. I think it is also a hot selling product for the affiliate marketers. I have seen two versions of this theme one is pretty simple one but the other one was ideal for a fancy blog but I don’t about the version of the theme.
Umair Thesis theme comes as a plain slate and there could be nothing really different about the different versions (plainly speaking, no tech). Are you talking about skins?
I see a lot of talk and mention of thesis all over the internet. The thing I often wonder is if it really is that much more seo friendly. I do not doubt it has plenty of features, but as a developer I am familiar with programming and develop enough. So my question is I guess is thesis and the skins more for beginners and if someone could enlighten me to what the bottom line is for cost that would be great. I hear this much for thesis, then this much more for a skin. So I get confused. Then there is something about a developer license and a regular license. Heck most end users just want to make a website and it is all confusing, this coming from a techie person. All these sites need to make it a little clearer if you ask me.

Let me explain. Thesis theme is a premium theme just like any other wordpress theme. And Thesis skins are a different way of designing or customizing your thesis theme blog. Without paying a designer or customizing the theme yourself, a skin developer does the job for you and sells it to you at a reasonable price.
You can buy and install a skin (tutorials are always available and it is not hard to install a skin). Thesis awesome skins are only for blogs that run on thesis theme.
Now single site and developer’s license. It is nothing - a single site license means that the theme or skin you buy can only be used on one site of yours. A developer’s license is when you are a multiple site designer and want to set up several demo blogs; you can use the theme or skin on more than one demo blogs. Multiple site license is different from dev license; you can use the theme/skin on multiple active sites (not just demo sites).

You made a good point - even web designers can use some help, sometime. Even though you build blogs, that doesn’t mean you have to assemble each one brick by brick!

indeed its quite a different sales page from what i have seen usually, i guess its upon experimenting which one converts well, hows is ur conversion rate ?
Nancy, since I have not experimented my product launch page with any other theme (the book is my first product and I’ve used the product skin for that), I can’t compare. But my conversion rate is really great!
