UPDATE: I now have a different opinion on the Blog Engage premium membership service. I’m no longer part of the service. I explain my opinion in detail in this post:
Blog Engage: Why I Cancelled My Premium RSS Syndication
You’re free to try this service, just that I’m not endorsing it any more.

Content syndication - Hope you know about it. If not let me explain very briefly:
Most commonly, web syndication refers to making web feeds available from a site in order to provide other people with a summary or update of the website’s recently added content (for example, the latest news or forum posts).
I am sure that content syndication is picking up momentum recently and it is one of the most popular methods to promote your blog. Before I introduce you to something amazing let me quickly to a recap of the benefits of content syndication:
1. First of all you get your content out there to more eyeballs. Just apart from the people who visit your blog, you make your content available at many places. This means that you softly attack (well not literally) people from various places so that they can’t miss you!
2. Since content syndication works with feeds, you are working with something automated and something which is (almost) instantaneous.
3. Content syndication produces positive effects on search engine rankings by building backlinks.
4. Your search engine visibility is marvellous. Since the content syndication sites are popular, well ranked and well indexed sites by the search engines, your syndicated content gets on to search engine results within minutes and gives you a great exposure.
5. The RSS channel is secure so that there is no chance for spammers to come through.
Now, content syndication can be done the hard way and the easier way. Indeed all bloggers do a bit of mix of both ways.
The hard ways of content syndication:
These are nothing but manual ways of doing it - creating accounts in web 2.0 properties, and syndication directories and then manually submitting your content over there for syndication. Well do not under estimate the power of manual submission. It has both pros and cons of its own. In the context of what we are discussing now, I will point out one pro and one con of this method.
Pro:
Manual submissions are more “real” and lively. This aspect surely misses in automated submissions. Even with Twitter, there is a lot of difference when we manually write a tweet with our link and when our link is posted via an automated tool. So you get a feel!
Con:
Time consuming! Ya, if you have a handful of places to syndicate your content, even that is time consuming given you have other blogging activities to take care of.
The easy ways of content syndication:
OK I admit that these are automated methods. They do have the con discussed above, that it misses the reality “feel”. But still it is a time saver and you don’t have to bother about “remembering” to do it. I think “remembering” is the most challenging part rather than making time for it
So I here is where I am going to tell you a way to do it automatically AND with the reality feel! Interested?
Syndicate your Blog at Blog Engage
Blog engage is a social media and/or content syndication site for bloggers. I really can’t tell you if it is either a social media site or a content syndication site because it has the features of both and it really depends upon how you use the site.
Let me tell you a couple of things:
1. The site has chat, group chat, voting, commenting, and all kinds of nifty stuff, which pretty much makes it a social media site.
2. The site also publishes content from your blog (note that this is not content duplication. People either submit content manually or they pay for syndication membership).
You now know why I call it social media and/or content syndication site.
Automatic with reality touch
When you become a RSS syndication member, depending upon your membership, your site is crawled at regular intervals and your posts are submitted/syndicated to Blog Engage. It is open for people to vote and if you get more votes, you get on to page 1. That is the math.
Your content can be submitted to specific categories, and the number of categories allowed depends upon your membership. The details of membership can be found here.
The secret is with Blog Engage’s RSS syndication, your content gets automatically submitted to Blog Engage site under your account. So your content appears to be actually submitted by you, but you haven’t made even a click to do that!
The benefits in a nutshell are:
1. Build backlinks - because your content is automatically submitted to Blog Serp, Top Blogged, RSS Leak, Blogger Ink, Tag Serp, and Blogger Tag.
2. Earn money - Blog Engage shares Google Adsense revenue.
3. Promotion on Facebook and Twitter - Get automatically tweeted to 2500+ followers and shared with 450+ friends.
Isn’t that super cool? Now what are you waiting for? Go for it and save time; you could get more sleep too!

Thanks for recommending this program! Is there a noticeable difference between the packages, or do you think someone could benefit from the lower end ones as well as the higher ones given the right tools?

I have heard this issue before, syndicate is very useful specially when you wish to spread out too many links, i have read a lot of article regarding on this, but i never tried this once, i really like to thank you Jane Sheeba.
Brilliant idea you have shared regarding the perfect use of syndication content, i don’t have nay idea about this, and i have to admit i really appreciate this kind of article you have shared for me to analyze.
Content Syndication is rapidly becoming the preferred method for promoting blogs. Google likes seeing this, but there are things to consider when automating this process. If, every time to make a post, 50 bookmarks show up, all from the same accounts, this dose not look natural, and can raise a red flag. Whatever automation you use, be sure it spreads your stuff around multiple places/accoutns. socialadr.com is a good one for doing this.
Hi Jane. I am already a Gold member of BE RSS service and I have to admit that I am very satisfied with the results so far.
Off, topic… I see that you have moved to your new domain. Congrats.. I am sure that in not time, all metrics will be back, and better than before for sure. Hope the transition went smooth

This looks like a great service. Is there any way to delay the content syndication so Google indexes it on my website before it is syndicated?
Jane,
I haven’t tried the blogengage, but I am already signing an account just today after reading here. Thanks for the tip.
However, I am wondering if the syndicated content will not be considered a duplicate content by Google.
Anyway, I will learn a lot after doing the test drive of blogengage. Thanks…

It does take more time, but in my opinion manually will always be the route to take. I think there’s a vastly underestimated number of connections that an come in many forms from those types of connections.
Great idea you have shared regarding the perfect use of syndication content..i think this is most effective way ..thanks for sharing
Hi
I wanted to express concern with syndication somewhere and found it here. I have got my blog http://blogsandyou.com syndicated at feedagg.com and since then none of my posts were indexed for reason of duplicate content. With all the relevant phrase search it was feedagg.com page appearing in google instead mine. It is essential to have link to lead to your site than feed entire post. Somehow I realized of late and had to manually delete all my feed from feedagg.com. I also read here someone commented about google algo updates not supporting syndication. Is it for real? then which are the sites and where can we syndicate our blogs safely.
