Google+: Using Google+ To Improve Your Blog’s Presence

Google+: Using Google+ To Improve Your Blog’s Presence

google_plus1

Google+ is a late but exceptional entry to the social media network niche.

The usability of Google+ is an easy matter without the horde of clutter most other social media sites are often identified with. That provides an optimal location to generate interest for a blog, network with other interested parties, and develop ideas for new posts on relevant subject matter that may be trending.

Hunting this information down can be accomplished by applying some basic principles of web marketing to your Google+ presence.

Generating ideas for great content

Social networks are a great place to generate ideas for new posts. Google+ particularly so as it is attracting more professionals due to the streamlined approach. Quick searches on topics relevant to your subject matter can help turn up ideas.

It is important to bear in mind that it is not necessary to come up with a 100% unique approach on every single topic you may write about. If you want to write about a topic, make it one that you can use your own personal experience and knowledge to further address the topic at hand.

As an example, the damsel in distress rescued by the knight in shining armor trope has been done for hundreds of years. Whether it is a knight rescuing the damsel from a dragon or a police officer rescuing a child from kidnappers, it is still the same trope.

The difference is in how the writer approached their chosen subject matter to make it unique to the author.

Blog promotion with Google+

A blog with no audience is not very useful to anyone. Various plug ins allow for broadcasting new posts to social networks. It is a good idea to have Circles in place on your Google+ account that will let you direct your posts to the appropriate parties.

Separating contacts from customers from suppliers allows you to direct useful information accurately.

Be wary of flooding people that have no interest in the subject matter or you may find yourself blocked.

Google+ and SEO

Sparks serve as keyword tags that will help you identify potentially interested parties in an easier fashion. Be certain to integrate your posts with appropriate Sparks to help attract the right audience.

The combination of accurate keyword seeding with quality content will boost your SEO efforts to rank. Both quality content and keywords are essential to showing your audience and search engines that your blog is worth reading.

Use Google+ to socialize

Too many people forget that the biggest part of customer awareness is identification. Take the time to search out relevant parties in your field and attempt to strike up friendships. They may find your content to be a nice supplement to their own.

Reciprocal relationships work best. Provide the same kind of promotional activities (such as reposting interesting content) that you would expect to see from the people in your network.

Create your Google+ fan page

Be certain to take the time to create your fan page on Google+. It provides an excellent vehicle for customers to follow and receive timely information from you. Additionally, it would not serve to have some other interest snap up a fan page with your titling for whatever reason they may have.

People searching for your relevant keywords or business name should be finding you.

In Closing… Google+ Takeaway

Google+ is a phenomenal social media tool that is very useful for promotion purposes. Many of the regular rules of SEO are still applicable and will generate positive results for your niche on the internet.

It is becoming increasingly more common for search engines to take into account information provide on social media networks to help determine ranking. It is only logical to conclude that Google will do the same with Google+ as they move forward.

I read through the post and really liked the idea of creating content exclusively for G+ so I actually went out and did it, ha! I have this massive list of blog post ideas (thousands actually) but I know they all won’t really fit on my blog because some of them aren’t really lengthy or don’t warrant their own posts but this could be an excellent outlet for these ideas and content. I’ve been trying to find a good place to post this kind of information. I like :)
