How to make a website that converts?

Conversion is the key with a website or a blog, don’t you agree? What is the point of setting up an online shop (your website) representing your business if it attracts only window shoppers?

There is no use if your visitors are simply rushing to your site, and leaving without taking action - the action that you want them to take; the action that will benefit you and your business; the action that helps you to better serve your audience.

For some entrepreneurs the “action” could be subscribing to their email list; for some, it could be that the readers share the blog posts; for some businesses, the action could mean a sale.

Practically, the “action” is something that grows your business - this means better profits.

So here, I am not talking about attracting traffic to your site. I am talking about converting that traffic for good. For most businesses, they don’t need a ton of traffic to make a living.

A handful of targeted loyal visitors is enough *if* the website manages to convert a decent percent of those visitors into customers (or prospects).

On the flip side, if your website did attract a ton of traffic but if it fails to convert that traffic to some sort of usefulness, then the whole purpose of attracting web traffic goes pointless.

The key here is conversion. There. I said it again.

When it comes to your website, you can implement factors that affect conversion in two different areas - the design of your website, and the content.

Here’s a post that talks about designing a blog for conversion where I discuss the design factors that you need to pay attention if you want your blog to be a conversion machine > How to design a blog that converts?
