Working from home is the latest trend that many of us are opting. Everyone wants to enjoy their life as they want. So, why are people still going for a dull 9 to 5 job?
May be they are not aware of what will they be doing at home? How will they be starting their business? What will be the cost?
What are things that they need working from home? And many such questions would be pondering over their mind while thinking of “Working from Home”.
There are lots of options to set up your home based business. But the one I am gonna discuss is - BLOGGING…!
Blogging is the art of writing and sharing your experience on internet. You can become a professional blogger whenever you want. Blogging is not a mystic language like C++, Java etc.
All you need is to learn some basics about search engine optimization, you should have a command over your language and be able to write in it.
Many people feel that blogging is an elusive concept and one should be fluent in spoken as well as written English in order to succeed. I proved this myth wrong as I scored 60 percent marks in English subject in 12th boards and improved my English afterwards.
This happened only because of my sheer hard work so that I can enter the blogging world.
Talking about myself, I am pursuing engineering and am also a part time blogger. There are so many reasons why I love blogging and often blame my busy college life that I am not able to pursue my passion as a full time business.
I often envy seeing my fellow bloggers like Amit Shaw (iTechCode) and Amrik Virdi (MonetizeBlogging) online and working.
Here I am busy with my boring lectures from 9-5. In this post, I will tell you some of my reasons that will showcase the benefits of “Working from Home as a Blogger“.
1. Be Your Own Boss
One of the most major reason why I feel that working from home is better than doing a job. If you are doing a job, then it‘s obvious that you have to follow your boss, follow the corporate culture and many other things. If you start your profession as full time blogger, you will have to think all about yourself.
No one will be giving you orders. No one can fire you. Being a blogger, I can do what I really want. I have personal freedom to do things in my own way.
You just have to write about things that you are passionate about or cater according the demand of your readers. Thus, being your own boss is quite interesting!
2. Make Your Own Timetable
Another reason that is enough for “working from home” is totally stress-free. You can make your own schedule if you opt for blogging. In blogging, you can select your timings that you feel are suitable for you. You don’t need to work from 9 to 5 which are compulsory if you are doing a job.
I see people doing jobs are rushing to their work place in the morning. If you are an employee, you have to reach on time whether it’s raining or getting too hot. You have to work according to the office timings if you want to survive.
Some people like me have the habit of working late at night. So, blogging is the ideal profession for all the people who works at night hours.
Initially you may need to devote more hours in blogging but once you crack it then you have people serving you in the form of guest postings. I was so wonder struck to find out that Sushant Risodkar (18 years old) of SmartBloggerz initially devoted 17-18 hours on blogging but now has several people writing articles for him and mind you he is earning 10,000+ dollars in a month.
3. No Arguments, Gossips & Politics at Workplace
In job there is a constant pressure among employees to outdo each other. This competition rather than being a healthy one is instead dirty. Any wrong report done by an employee leads to his position of work being challenged by others. Often one hears, people bribing the office staff for promotion and get other benefits.
Blogging benefits you to stay away from such things. You just have to work from home and there are no such things. You can concentrate more on your work and produce quality content.
4. No Formal Clothes
Maintaining formalism is a must in office. I really don’t like to wear the formal dress code that is - shirt, pant, tie, formal shoes every day.
I feel uncomfortable going to work wearing these clothes. But in blogging, being our own master enables us to have the freedom to choose our own set of clothes in which we are comfortable with it.
5. Spend Quality Time With Your Family
Doing a job from 9 to 5 can lead to frustration. Frustration can be due to - less salary, lots of work, your boss is not signing a leave, rude behavior of other fellow colleague etc.
Due to this, one cannot spend quality time with his/her family. Also after coming back from office, one is tired and does not have the energy to spend time with his/her kids and other family members.
In blogging, you have to work from home and you can spend quality time with your family members. You can take care of them in every situation.
Working from home as a blogger keeps you away from emergency meetings, office projects and other such things that would have devoided you to spend time with your family members.
Apart from the points that I have mentioned, blogging has its own perks. If your blog becomes popular, one gets the whole social media attention. Indeed this would result in loads of goodies, invitees, offers come your way.
What are your reasons to blog from home?

Working from home is a bit difficulty.

Hi Khaja Moin,
Every thing in life is never easy. We have to make it
Yes Dhruv
but the one more point is dedication
blogging will not yield in short term, consistent hard word needed for long time
thats why only few bloggers succeed
cheers
I agree, working from home is so much more difficult than people realise and it can be a bit of lonely world!! ALthough there are a ton of perks there are also a lot of cons to it as well!! If you are thinking about it have a solid plan before you start and commit to executing it!!
Hey Dhruv,
It is always good to be worryless about various things. As, there are times when you’re satisfied with what’s happening and also those when you’re NOT.
Now, here’s the answer to your ‘call to action’
I’m a student, a blogger and one who loves being at home and learning new things everyday. I love writing, so do I blog as it’s a great help for me to express what do I have to say and to show the world how better could I write. I’m not a good writer till now though, but I’m noticing high peaks of improvements in my progress…
Blogging is called the best way to earn. But, I don’t blog because of it’s “best” but because it helps me improve my skills at high paces.
Thanks! Loved!
Hi Mairaj Pirzada,
I am happy that you are learning and also improving daily. I am also studying in college pursuing Engineering. What I see the real scenario is - Thousands of students appear for the placement mock test in which only 10 will be selected. Personally, I am not that intelligent who will top the exam and take that job. I am just an average student. For me, blogging is something in which I can improve and in which I hope that I will be able to earn some good amount after 1-2 years of regular blogging..
Have a good day
yes you are absolutely right , Working from home is the best option for Bloggers , the points you have said is really true , can be our own Boss, no fights and ego , the main thing we are responsible for whatever happens , last but not least can work according to our convenience. Nice write up , had a good read
Hi Linda,
I think that you enjoy reading my blog post. Thanks for the appreciation
Good Luck !!
I think self discipline is THE essential thing for working from home, without that you are sunk, I find switching the computer off (aka the distraction machine)
Hi Carl,
I agree to your point “Self Discipline is necessary”. I am also addicted to Facebook so much and I find myself just reading new feeds on my Facebook account. You should make a target for completing your tasks. If you work upon your goal, your way of living life would be more easier than usual and you will be aiming high than before.
Yeah although I am not nearly where I want to be with my blogging, writing certainly lives deep inside my heart and I am confident that soon, not only will I be doing what my heart desires but also will I be able to earn a good living for myself and my family through doing what I’m passionate about.
Great post man!
hi Ruan,
I am glad that you are doing what you are passionate for…
Many people are just forced to do a job.. Because no one wants to work for someone.. Not everyone have business through which they can earn their living..
Good Luck Ruan!! I am sure you will be doing well one day.
Dhruv
be your own boss is definitely the best argument here. Who likes having a boss nobody, blogging gives us a chance to be free.
Hey Kenny,
This is one of most strongest point that everyone has to accept !!!
Hope you liked the post..
Yeah, these 5 reasons above are what we should think about when want to work from home. Being a blogger or not? nice suggestion. Thanks for share.
hi Trung Nguyen,
There are lots of ways from which you can earn from home…
Like Freelancer, selling products online, article writer, etc.. But blogging is the best way I think you can make money from home.. It does not require any specific qualification also..!!!
Blogging is a good way for making money online, however, it’s not for a lazy man
thanks for reply me
I am a Blogger and I love it and I would never change it other than knowing how to make it work like a regular job as right now I seem to be on 24/7 and it does not get me anywhere.
Hi Glenda Cates,
I am happy that you love working from home as a blogger. There are also so many reasons like you can help your family when they need you the most.. Also, you can take care of child (if you have) like Jane.
Best part of home blogging is no formal clothes, I was working as a software Developer(Not in Google :)) and I forced to work with formal and I am not comfortable with formals and now working from home and very pleased with my work now…
Hi Nishant,
Wow!! I am impressed that you were working as a software developer.. Great man!! Hope you do many times better than in blogging..
Well, I have seen your blog.. Can you please tell me which Genesis theme you are using ??
Thanks for commenting
Thanks Dhruv,
Now doing freelancing work and blogging, and which is much better than a Regular 9 to 5 Job, and I am using Generate child theme, and have done little customization…
Thanks bro for sharing this info.
Good Luck!!
I love to work from home. For me the reason is I hate office politics and also as i like you I too hate formal dresses. Hope I will get into full time blogging.
Hey Atish,
You are doing well in blogging.. I think you should make it full time.. Also, you will be able dominate yourself the way you want
All The Best brother
Thanks buddy. Thinking for the same
Today working at home is a dream as it demands a lot of patience. I know personally many bloggers that have left this job because it is rewarding in long run. Further more a lot of improvement is required i your work.
Hi Nawaz,
Whether you go for a job or want to set up your own business..
In job, you will be paid less and regularly.
In business, you have to work harder in the starting and later on you will be rewarded much. Later on, you can hire people to work for you..
Patience is required if you want to become popular!!
It’s their choice to go for a job or self business.??
Thanks for commenting !!
I guess working from home takes much more effort than working in a company. One can have a good exposure of the market if they are working in an office. But still exposure don’t just comes with working somewhere its about how one can learn from every single thing around him.
Hey Aditya,
If you are working for yourself. There might be possibility that you would be making some mistakes.. But, one can learn only from his/her mistakes!!
The time will come when you will be doing that work perfectly and people will giving your example as a SUCCESS!!
Of course Dhruv, but i believe success comes from failure itself.Every successful person have taste the failure once or may be twice before reaching at the top.
There is certainly much to like about working from home. From my limited experience with it, it CAN be a bit of an issue to focus and get anything done from home. That lack of stress comes at the expensive of the demand for performing, and if you are not great at self-motivation, it can be a real danger for maintaining a determined work ethic.
Hi Paul Lee,
In a day job, you are forced to work whether if you are willing to do that or not.
But, in a home business, you should have one reason to work for.. This will help you in growing!!
Once you find your reason for working hard, you will be one step closer to your goals..
Good Luck!
Hi Dhruv,
A very apt share, keeping into consideration today’s scenario!! These days work from home is gaining huge momentum, especially blogging. The reasons mentioned in the post are very relevant. Being the boss of oneself is one of the greatest thing anybody can desire for. By working from home, the blogger has the chance to work independently. But, yes the independence should not be misused. Thanks for this wonderful share.
Hi Aayna,
You should be disciplined. If there is no other source of income, then you have to work harder to earn more via blogging and make living
My fiance has been a freelancer for 8+ years, and we are now taking it upon ourselves to start up a joint project blogging and working on a website in addition to that. Establishing yourself in the blogging world definitely seems intimidating, but the benefits of working from home provide excellent motivation. I think the freedom and flexibility you gain from being your own boss are such huge positives that it turly makes the effort “worth it.” Especially reason four! Heheh. Awesome, insightful post!
Hi Ameenah,
It’s good to hear positive things about working from home.. Women doing job have more work than a normal human being. They have to take care of home, children and lot more things. I am happy for you that you prefer working from home.. And especially for “reason number 4″
Also, Wish you good luck for your new joint project
Blogging is hard work.
Nothing is easy about it.
It produces incredible money you can make through blogging.
It takes smart work and the money will come in.
Blogging from home is undoubtedly the best thing to do in order to make some money and also build some fame.
Hi Abejith,
It’s the best and the hardest thing !! It’s not like a day job where you have to only follow the orders. You have to think yourself to become popular !!
Polly says
I agree to what you’ve said but I know things are also hard if you are just starting. You have to dedicate a lot of time for you to succeed. Blogging, I guess, is for everyone who want to share knowledge about their favorites in life. It is not for someone who just want to write to earn but for someone who enjoys what he or she writes and considers the income as a bonus.
Hi Polly,
Yeah, Blogging is all about sharing information online. It’s like writing a dairy. But, you have to share something important if you want people to know you from your blog.
Hey Dhruv
Can’t agree with you more. I am a content writer and have been working from home for quite some time now after being a full time writer for a reputed company. I enjoy working from home and it surely pays me well. I enjoy all the benefits that you have mentioned above. I am definitely enjoying it much more than my full time job. Flexibility is the most important thing I like about writing from home.
Hi Richa,
I am really happy for you that you are loving your work from home.
Good Luck for your future !!
I love working at home, but as mentioned there are downsides such as lacking motivation or becoming easily distracted, thats why my garden room is so beinifical to me, I work from home but in a proffessional feeling environment, i’d suggest one to anyone looking to start up a home buisness or just begin working at home more often.
Hi Dhruv,
It is so difficult working from home when you are a mum. Sometimes i find it difficult to write post on my blog due to child care. Although working from make you spend quality time with your family.
Hi Sumbo,
You should ask Jane as she is a mother and managing several blogs brilliantly.
Take care!
Work from home is little bit difficult
why because there is lack of concentration while working from home
thank you.
