Problogging Success Weekend Read: Blogging, SEO And List Building

blogging SEO

This week, Google slap continues. Many more sites seem to have been de-indexed since last week.

Although we all love search engine traffic, we need to have two things in mind:

1. We should not put all the eggs in one basket (Google, because there are other search engines too), and

2. We should not put all the eggs in one basket (Do not rely too much on search engine traffic. Find other sources of traffic as well).

Lesson learned. Moving on.

I’ve summarized some of the best reads I had this week.

Wow. Amazing. No words from my side :D Thank you soo much Jane for listing my blog into your weekend readings. I’m really honored. This makes me think like “Rahul, you should be more responsible with your writing from now on as the world is watching you”.

Thanks again for this Jane for not only including my blog but you also reminded that I should be responsible more.

Many of the blogs you listed in this post are already there in my reading list. But the ones that have not been added to my daily reading list will be added right now. Because now I know the posts you listed here are of great quality. Nice selection skills you’ve got, Jane. Thanks for this beautiful collection of posts that could make my weekend more prosperous. :)

Thanks for sharing the link on the tips on finding and engaging my target audience. After many hesitations, I finally created my facebook page. I am becoming more at ease and confident on socializing with members and friends. I need more skills in finding my target audience yet I think I am getting better in creating relationships.

Oh, I’m on to you, Jane. Easter’s coming. I wonder how well this will rank for “eggs in one basket” or “eggs” AND “basket”? ;)

It’s true, though. Even though my preference is for social sharing and comments, it’s not really meaningful traffic if they aren’t influenced by the content or the pitch to help you reach your goals.

    My goals are fairly simple:

I want to entertain, amuse, or educate readers.
I want to raise $2500 for Relay for Life over the next 7 days.

The first, you know, is fairly easy. The second is a bit tougher, especially in today’s economy. Of course, I’ve already bartered a guest post in exchange for a donation… apparently, everything’s “negotiable.” :)

Hello, Jane! I’m a writer and internet marketer and I appreciate all the useful resources that you have shared here. These are a handful and I hope I can check them all out. I can’t wait to learn new SEO strategies. I agree that we should not put everything in the hands of the search engines because there are still great ways to promote and build traffic to a website. Thanks!

There are some good tips in that article about building a better blog. One of the things that’s definitely true is the statement about liberally adding pictures to blog posts. They keep the reader’s eyes moving and decreases the likelihood that they’ll just click “Back” when they come across a large block of unbroken text.
