The Confident Winner

Dan Lew from Danlew.com is the guy I came to know about very recently. Thanks to the 2011 Traffic Generation Blogging Contest; since I am a contestant and Dan Lew is one of the sponsors of this contest. But I had known about him earlier because of a wonderful tool he had developed - The Keyword Winner WordPress plugin.

When I visited Dan’s site for the first time, I was caught by the very confident Dan’s own picture on his website (look at his picture above and you will see what I mean by “confident” Dan). And then I was searching for the “About” button and here I find the “About my success” page! How confident that is.

I must say that Dan, even though confident, is very simplistic and humble; a person who never enjoys the celebrity status of a “guru”. But just because he doesn’t claim himself to be a guru doesn’t mean that he isn’t. Let me tell you why:

1. The awesome plugin:

Here comes the wonderful, awesome, fantastic (what more?!) plugin that makes every blogger’s SEO life damn easy. I thought that I am not going to elaborately discuss here on how the plugin works. But I just can’t hold myself from introducing it here in this post. So what is all this plugin thing is about?

Keyword and top Google ranking that is!

So Dan has made it super easy for bloggers to do keyword research and optimize their blog post titles just from the WordPress dashboard while typing out a blog post. So for instance, this post title is: Dan Lew | The Confident Winner Who Made Keyword Winner. I typed “Dan Lew” on the title spot and clicked on “Get Keyword Winner Suggestions”. Here is what I got.

The ones in RED are highly competitive keywords, the ones in ORANGE are medium and the ones in GREEN are low competitive keywords. I target those keywords which are in green. The column “Inbound links” shows the number of links needed for that particular to make to top of Google. So while targeting on the GREEN keywords I also need to look for the ones that need less inbound links.

So I made another try with “Keyword Winner” and here is what I got - a GREEN and 4 inbound links. Super! So here is my title with both the GREEN keywords (Dan Lew and Keyword Winner).

I must seriously thank Dan Lew for making my life so easy without me having to go to many places and spends hours in keyword research. I now usually spend 2-4 minutes in optimizing a post title and right at my dashboard.

And, the support he himself lends for the plugin is awesome. So far I have shot 2 emails to him, asking questions about the plugin as I was unclear about things in the beginning and he replied promptly and in detail.

2. The awesome book:

He has written a really awesome book, SEO Revenge. Here’s a sneak view of what’s inside the book

In short, I will confidently say that Dan knows his stuff. He has created awesome products and made a lot of money from them over the past years. He is really an expert but doesn’t make too much claims about it. I would like to thank Dan for the products he had developed and for being one of the sponsors of the contest.

Please go and check out his website; he shares awesome content there! Have you used Dan’s products earlier? Will you use them in future? Please share your thoughts in comments.

Hi Jayne,

I was actually caught by the “less time consuming aspect of this plugin. I am now spending 2-3 minutes right from my dashboard and I have my post on the first page of Google within minutes of publishing.

Isn’t that amazing?

Cheers,
Jane.

The plugin looks interesting.
But I wonder how the competition decisions are made.
I understand that green means low competition, but is that low competition compared to search volume or just general low competition?
If the plugin gets the phrases with the best ratio of low competition/highsearch volume it’s a masterpiece..

By the way, I have +1ed and tweeted the post but I can not get more than 1 post to choose fron in the CL list..
