Affiliate marketing is one of the most simple and effective ways to make money online. It’s also one of the easiest ways to make money because you don’t have to create a product.
Creating your own product takes time, effort and much more. But earning money simply from what others have created (by spending hours of their time and effort) is something cool, isn’t? And that’s legal, by the way.
In fact, it doesn’t matter if you have your own product or not, you can still promote others products. If done correctly, affiliate marketing can be one of those big and constant sources of online income, given the existence of a large pool of best affiliate marketing programs.
Affiliate marketing rules strategies
Well, its all about honesty and transparency when it comes to affiliate marketing (or affiliate email marketing) success. Simple rules like the following hold:
- Do not promote products that you’ve not tried.
- Do not promote products by writing fake reviews.
- Be honest with your reviews; write about the plus and minus of the products.
- Write also about poor products that you’ve used and miserably failed (be honest here as well; don’t ruin the reputation of any company without a solid experience of using the product).
- Use affiliate marketing methods that don’t punch anyone on their face - don’t be the “buy this product” guy/gal.
- Don’t promote any product just for the sake of money, even though money is the shiny bit involved.
I’m promoting a lot of products here at Problogging Success. I always make sure that I try the product out and if I’m happy, I promote it. You won’t see a product that I’m not using/I’ve not used. And I don’t promote a product if I don’t see its worth the money.
My best selling affiliate product (affiliate marketing success, can I say?)
There’s a contest going on at Famousbloggers.net. It is a guest blogging contest where the contestants have to submit a guest post to Famous Bloggers about their best selling affiliate product.
I actually couldn’t resist from participating on the contest for two reasons:
- I really wanted to share about the affiliate product that’s making me a lot of money.
- The prize money is really tempting.
So I’ve made my entry and here is the link to my contest post:

What has worked for me with affiliate products is teaching people how to use it and actually showing that benefit of using the product.
Yes, I actually bought the market samuari after seeing the keyword search webinar by Pat Flynn. So basically I was convinced! I needed it when I saw how useful it was.
All the best for the contest. Hope you win!

MS is truly great, I can’t live without it indeed LOL.
Affiliate marketing is good alternative to earn online, but selling those affiliate products also require skill & trust.. you exactly said its better to promote those products which you test it & are satisfied it because even you just blindly promote a product someone buys it and is not satisfied then there are negligible chances of him coming back..
Nice Contest going will vote for you to Win.. Good Luck

I would agree with you Rohit, but in some point because even if the product that you are promoting are good then you actually satisfied with it. You must also consider those people who are trying to destroy the good name of your product and yet making a story of dissatisfaction. Right?
Yes, it is true about Affiliate marketing is good alternative to earn online.
Joana recently posted..how to get a girl to like you
Joanna, your point is so right. We should carefully examine (or at least get used to) all features of a product before making a comment about it!
Rohit you’re right. But as far as an affiliate product review or promotion is honest, there shouldn’t be a problem. And we should also note that if I like some feature of the product, it may not be also liked by some other person. In fact the other person may hate such a feature while I totally love it. So product features score based on personal preference.
In any case it is always recommended that every person does his/her own research before buying any product.
Buying something cheaper and selling it with a small profit is something that’s been done since trades between cavemen took birth. Affiliate marketing is just a more refined way of doing it. And off course, your rules still apply as they did on day one. Sell products that you’ve tried and you trust, be prepared for things to go wrong. When you don’t have control over the product’s manufacturing, things happen. Even when the product is online. And you need to be ready to explain these things to your customers.
Now that i’m done with the rambling, i’ll give you a hand in the contest, promise.

You know, I’ve only ever thought of blogging for fun but you have a good point. It seems like a nice way to make some extra cash provided you do it ethically. Really awesome post, Jane! I’ll help you out by sharing on Twitter.

Sometimes selling affiliate products becomes difficult especially if your site is from a different niche nonetheless it is really one of the best way to earn money online.
adam recently posted..Download Angry Birds Free for Samsung Galaxy Y
Yes Adam, affiliate marketing won’t work if you promote off-niche products. You have to be in a related niche to make it work!
Affiliate marketing has been one of the most famous ways to earn online. As a matter of fact, there are lots of affiliate marketers who have been trying so hard to get their first sale. However, there are times that they are offering products which they haven’t really used before. So providing a reliable feedback about the product isn’t possible.

I really like affiliate marketing because it’s a easy way to monetize your website and maybe make a little bit income out of your site. I already commented on that famousblogger but I didn’t see my comment on the site. Keep on the good work!

I will sure pole vote for you. It is good to promote that product that really have value for the purchaser.Do not use your writing skill for fake product as people will loose confidence on online shopping.
I totally agree with your strategies, still I think there’s one more thing to say: promote products that have things in common with your blog; e.g. if you write about shoes, don’t write reviews about cars, actually this advice is included in your last strategy. Good luck with your contest!

Great idea Jane! Good luck and best wishes!
This was a very good article on affiliate marketing. I am like most people who get into it. At first you wonder if it’s a scam. Then you begin to read more and more and talk to a few people and find out it is for real but there are no overnight successes. It takes tons of hard work and determination. You have to do certain things consistently over a long period of time and then one fine day the sales begin to roll in. Thanks for the good read!
